Q Now, after you first trip at such a place have you ever had any such difficulty in getting your boat past an impediment of that kind, or rather, past such a section of the river without being collapsed to get out and assist your boat? out that it is to do it with a pole. Q Have you ever done that except on the first trip where you haven't learned, really, that the channel was at that point? A That is a good deal the trouble in those trips, just what a first trip would be; we don't make so very many trips down the river during a year, and they are all, as a rule, some distance apart ; in fact, the only trips I think I took fairly close together was for the Marlin Oil Company. Q Did you select the wrong channel at any time on either of the Marlin Oil trips? A I don't think so. Q Have you made trips down and then back within a day or two, two or three days, where on the down trip you got in thereafter |
