Show 6782 Wimmer- D 4771 That is the way we continued to use it all during the lower Colorado trip. But on the larger boats, they put radiators on some of them, and some of them run cooling pipes around the boat, and used clear water entirely; didn't put any river water in. But this river water has nothing to do only go around the water jacket in your engine. It don't injure your engine; it injures your pump, that pumps it into your engine. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Didn't you ever have any trouble wit your pump or engine on the Green river with the effect of sand in the water? No sir, not after I got a second pump. UI did at first. But there was a gentleman here that tried to get a patent on a rotary pump; it was oblong shape; he showed it at the Fair here. After he got through with the exhibit, I put that pump on the Marguerite, and it would handle the sand. I guild a shell, cut a hole through the bottom of the boat, stuck a pipe up so the water would come up into that, and set this pump so it would take it out. I could go further and show you how it worked, if you want me to. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: |
