Show 6900 Reeder- D 4889 THE SPECIAL MASTER: What do you mean by " mishap"? Do you mean accident to the boat, or to the man himself? MR. FARNSWORTH: Any accident. I take it mishap means accident or difficulty of any kind. I would think it would mean. MR. BLACKMAR: I take it that was a mishap when they got that two- by- four in the fly wheel. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Yes, I was wondering whether you included that sort of thing. I didn't suppose you meant that. MR. FARNSWORTH: I meant with respect to navigability of the river. THE SPECIAL MASTER: That is what I supposed you meant. THE WITNESS: That, of course, was carelessness of the particular operator. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q So far as the river is concerned, or its condition, or any condition in the river or its bed, were you ever occasioned any trouble or annoyance except the ordinary work of getting your boat up and down stream in the river? A No. Q Always got where you started for, did you? |
