A What I mean to say -- THE SPECIAL MASTER: I understand thoroughly. Some different witnesses have testified as to different practices. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q What effect, if any, does the annual high spring water have on the beds of these streams? A You mean where the lower water is running at the present time, the effect it has on that? Q What effect it has on the channel or on the sandbars or on anything? A We got a March raise from local snows, that come up rather fast, then it goes down again, then it comes up very slow; natural high water of the river comes up slow. It just keeps crowding out, and requires more space, but it will change the current. The current runs in low water at one place, in the low places of the river; in high water it hits a solid rock bank, for instance, and changes the current of the river. Where there might be a sandbar over here today, we could camp on it, that current will cut across in high water |
