Q I notice at the top of page 5, the statement, you say this: " I think the channel is more discernible in medium low water that it is in right high water." And a little lower down you say? " We are more liable in exceedingly high water to run across a bar in the center of the stream, be-cause of the channel" -- which I understand you say should be " current"-- " going to one side or the other." Just what do you mean by those statements in this exhibit? A I would like to have one at a time; you have two there. Q I think they are connected. Why is it that in high water you are more liable to run across a bar in the center of the stream? A That is what we call a permanent island; they get submerged in real high water; of course, you can run most any-where, in high water, down that river, because it has a raise |
