Show 6727 Branson- D 4716 Q Do you know which was the cheaper and easier method of transporting that lumber from your mills to Moab? A Why, rafting was. Q Why was that true? A Well, my experience is this, when two men can run ten thousand feet of lumber in from one to two days, where it would take about six or seven four- horse teams and six or seven men to transport the same amount overland, to any experience rafting is the cheapest. BT THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q How long did it take to get your lumber from your mill down to Moab, that is, over the road to the river, and down the river? A Well, that depended on the number of teams and the amount we took to the river. Q Then how long did it take to take your raft down the river from the point you first made the raft? A Well, that depended on the stage of water and the wind conditions. Q Well, normally, ordinarily. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q During those months you were rafting there, can't you tell us approximately the time consumed in the journey? |
