A Some of those washes are large, at times they have quite large floods down them which deposit a great amount of silt and sometimes rock, owing to what country they come from; they simply come out into the river is lower,-- they come out into it, and will shove the river over, in other words kind of dam that side of the river and push it over a little bit. As the river washes it away again, it disappears. But nearly every one of those create what I call a rapid it makes a narrow place in the river. These rapids at times are worse that others. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q What time are they worse? A Directly after they are deposited; then it begins to go away. BY MR.
