Show 6866 Wimmer- 4855 tion, you have made no mention of sandwaves. Did you never meet any sand waves? A I have saw sand waves at the mouth of the San Juan river, where I came out there. Q Won't you describe what experience you have had with them? Was Mr. Lint with you? A No; the time I saw these sand waves particularly was when Mr. LaRue and Richardson an I went down; that was in 1915, I believe. Q Will you describe them? A Well, just like any ocean wave, I might say, Q How did you navigate? A Oh, I didn't pay any attention to them; they didn't intefence with the main river there, at all, just coming out of the mouth of the San Juan, they didn't interfere with our boating, at all. Q Weren't you on the boat with Mr. Lint? A He was with the Chenoewith party; I made my head-quarters with Chenoewith after he got down; I wasn't on the boat with Mr. Lint, at all. We had separate boats. Q In view of your experience on these rivers, will you tell me how the stretch of the river, of the Green river, from the San Rafael to the junction, compares in ease or difficulty |
