Show 6771 Wimmer- D 4760 one hundred and fifty pounds; we didn't load our boat so heavy as it was before, but we took all we could reasonably handle; I would say we probably had on, the two of us, probably six or seven hundred pounds this time. Q Of supplies? A No, all told. Q What was the draft of that boat, loaded in that way? A Well, we took better than a foot of water. Q On the round trip to San Juan when you had it so heavily loaded, what was the draft of the boat? A It was more than that, considerably; wasn't but a very little bit of this boat stuck out of the water. Q How high were the sides A The regular row boat sides, I should think they were maybe twenty inches. Q If you can tell us about how near the top the water was? A I would say it came within four or five inches of the top; I am sure of that. Q Would you say the draft was fifteen or sixteen inches? A Yes sir, on the trip. Q Did you make any round trip from Halls Crossing to Escalante, or from Escalante to Halls Crossing? |
