Show 118 Q You speak here of he industries and what people are engaged in, and say that a " very small part of Southeastern Utah is suitable for farming, primarily because of an insufficient supply of water for irrigation purposes; and secondarily, because of lack of proper soil." Now, did you make an examination as to those matters before you expressed that conclusion in the as report? A Well, I have been all over that country. Q Just answer the question. Did you make and examination with respect to that subject- matter be fore you expressed that conclusion that I have just read to you? A Not specifically for that purpose. Q Well, you do not feel qualified, as I understand you, to now testify, to even express an opinion as to the quantity of land not now under irrigation at and near Greenriver that is susceptible to irrigation and the raising of crops? A You are dealing with one little spot around Greenriver, and I am dealing with one Southeastern Utah. Q Well, let us direct our attention to this spot ( indicating) where the principal town is alocated, is it not, on the Green River in that part of the State. Now, you do not feel qualified to express an opinion on that subject at all? A Not at Green River, because there is an adequate water supply there. 2078 |
