Mr. Blackmar: I am just showing the shifting to show that the river has not any stable channel; that it is never twice at the dame place. Mr. Farnsworth: I just wanted to get your idea. The Special Master: Well, in these first five miles it is pretty stable, is it not? There does not seem to be much change in the first five miles. Mr. Farnsworth: I do not think that there is much change in the first five miles. Mr. Blackmar: I think that there is considerable change. I may not have made that very plain. The Special Master: I was just following it on the plate. There would not be anything like the changes there would be on the Mississippi River, for instance. The Witness: The River is confined, in general, between rock walls; so that the limits within which it can wander are limited by the rock walls.
