Show 102 AFTER RECESS. The hearing was resumed at 2: 15 o'clock p. m. Mr. Blackmar: We can not locate at the moment the photograph showing the sand storm. The Special Master: If that photograph is found, it may be entitled Exhibit No. 20, as we have one exhibit which is marked both 20 and 21. Mr. Blackmar: I offer in evidence a book entitled, " The Exploration of the Colorado River of the West and its Tributaries, Explored in 1869, 1870, 1871, and 1872, under the Direction of the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, " by J. W. Powell, bearing the imprint of the Washington Government Printing Office, 1875. That I offer as Exhibit 51. Mr. Farnsworth: There is no objection to its going in on the same basis as the others. The Special Master: I do not think that you had better mark those books from the Library of Congress. They are almost irreplaceable. ( The book referred to was received in evidence, and was marked on the outside paper wrapper, " Complainant's Exhibit No. 51.") Mr. Blackmar: Then I offer this book as Exhibit No. 52. This book is entitled, " Report of the Lands of the Arid Region of the United States, with a More Detailed Account of the Lands of Utah," with maps, by J. W. Powell, bearing the imprint of 2062 |
