Show 54 the two rivers. A Yes. Q Did you run that rapid? A Yes. That is a relatively easy rapids, Although Brown in that rapids lost the raft in which he had entrusted his provisions for our boats, we were able to control things and got through there very nicely. Mr. Blackmar: I offer this photograph as Complainant's Exhibit No. 26. ( The photograph referred to was received in evidence and marked " Complainant's Exhibit No. 26.") By Mr. Blackmar: Q I show you this photograph which will be marked Exhibit No. 27, and ask you to tell us about that picture ( handing photograph to witness). A ( Examining photograph) This is intended to indicate the character of the river at about this point ( indicating), that is, between Rapids No. 1 and 2 and 3. I photographed it simply because it was the first rough water that we had come to, and it was just typical. Later on we came to many miles of such places. Q Did you run that rapids? Mr. Farnsworth: You have got the mileage wrong. I do not know that it makes any difference, beginning with the first rapids, I think it is four and a half miles by your measurements. 2014 |
