Show 105 ARTHUR A. BAKER, a witness of lawful age, called by and on behalf of the complainant, having been first duly a worn according to the law by the Special Master, was examined and testified as follows: DIRECT EXAMINATION By Mr. Blackmar: Q Mr. Baker, will you state your name and profession? A Arthur A. Baker, geologist, United States Geological Survey. Q And you live in Washington, do you? A I live in Washington; D. C. Q Mr. Baker, just state the extent of your education and your qualifications as a geologist. A I was graduated at Yale University as a mining engineer; I passed two years in the graduate department of Yale University, specializing in geology. Since 1921, I have been with the Federal Survey as a geologist. Q And as a geologist did you make any examination of the lands in and about the Colorado and San Juan Rivers? A In the summers of 1926 and 1927 and 1928, I conducted field examinations in or adjacent to the Colorado River and San Juan River. Q You have been personally on the ground yourself?
