On your entire trip, that is, through the stretches that I have directed your attention tom you had one accident to one of the boats-- or were there two accident?-- where a hole was driven in the boat? A Well, there were holes made in our boats at what I call Rapids No. 5, the fifth bad rapids, that we came to. Two of our boats suffered there. At what I call Fourth of July Rapids-- I can give you the mile mark of that if you want to look it up, on the map. Q No. But at this point, one of our large boats was completely overturned while we were lining up, and in order to save the boat at all we had to let it drift down out of this hole, and coming ashore one of the hatches was broken in. That happened at these Fourth of July Rapids. Also the " Coronado", the second large boat, was so badly injured in going 2041 |
