Q How old a man are you? A Forty. Q Just please quickly tell me your previous occupation, your education, etc. A I am a graduate in pharmacy from the University of California, and have at various times been employed in retail drugstores. Later, as editor of the DRUGGIST'S CIRGLAR, New York, and more recently as a sales executive of E. R. Squibb & Son. Prior to my attendance at the University of California, I spent two years in the United States Navy. During the war I was attached to the Air Service and went to France in that capacity, making pictures for the War College. Q In the year 1927, did you make a trip on the Colorado River? A Yes, I did. Q As a preliminary to that trip, just tell me what examination and investigation you made of the river, what books you studied? A In 1919 I first saw the Colorado River, and concluded that there was a river that I wanted to run. It had always been a dream of mine to go down some bad river. So in 1919 I decided 1993 |
