Phi Mu Eta Epsilon Chapter founded: Wesleyan, Georgia, 1852 University of Utah, 1930 The Phi Mu house was transformed into the Park Building at homecoming; occasional chapter dinners became casual twister parties; and the YWCA was the site of an overnight retreat, as the sisters of Phi Mu Sorority opened their bond to more diversity. The actives kept trying to achieve a successful sneak (despite the Phi Delts); and the pledges learned new and more successful ways of obtaining Sigma Chi derbys-by making friends with their house mother. Experiences ranged from eating Hawaiian food Japanese style, sitting on Santa's lap, and Greek dancing at the Athenian, to leaves inside the front door, unidentified furniture in the basement, and someone's crest upstairs. The house boasts royalty, scholars, officers, and members of many campus organizations, their sharp housemother, good food, and a beautiful home. But mostly, they realize that you must live in the Greek system to appreciate it, and that their primary boast-the sisters and the countless, closest friendships-will belong to every year. 245 |
