Show "Ring Round the Moon," an adaptation of Jean Anouilh's play "L'lnvitation au Chateau," was directed by Dr. David E. Jones. The beautiful set designed by Ariel Ballif portrayed a winter garden enmassed by foliage and exhibited latticework doors and a fountain which appeared to spout water from a statue in the center. Among the play's characters were Joshua, a crumbling butler (Brent Harris), Hugo, a young man about town, and Frederic, his brother, (both portrayed by Joseph Lambie). Diana Messerschmann (Madelon Lambie) secretly loved Hugo although she was engaged to Frederic. Diana's father (Harold Folland) maintained a mistress, Lady India (Linda Burt); but the lady secretly wooed Patrice Bombelles (James Jansen) who was Messerschmann's clandestine secretary. To add confusion, Madames Desmortes (Lila Eccles Brimhall) and her companion Capulet (Wanda Clayton Thomas) flitted on and off stage at whimsical intervals. James Jansen hears plans from Joseph Lambie in "Ring Round the Moon." Joseph Lambie and Leslie Groper listen to Lila Eccles Brimhall. 117 |
