Show Letters and Science "The College of Letters and Science sees its function as educating students in the liberal arts, while at the same time giving its majors a thorough acquaintance with a specialized field of study.' This statement by its new dean indicates why this college is the intellectual backbone of the University. In addition to its status as the largest college on campus, it administers the vast program of General Education and exerts a strong academic influence on every student in the University. With its expanding curriculum and increasing prestige throughout the nation, the college is well equipped to serve its crucial function on this campus. Kenneth B. As one of the foremost schools in the United States, the College of Medicine has performed commendably in each of these areas. Utah is blessed to have an outstanding medical faculty and a diverse and competent curriculum permitting students to pursue their personal interests in the field of medicine. In addition, the eminence of the college has attracted physicians from throughout the nation to study here and this has improved significantly the caliber of medicine practiced in the community. 42 |
