Show mm Wjj\ The Sigs excell both individually and collectively. They started the year intent on retaining their Intramural and Scholarship trophies. They proved that they are a top scholastic fraternity by winning the Scholastic trophy for fall quarter. Their social calendar began with Melon Mess and Derby Days. They ended the quarter with the fall formal, where they named their Derby Darling. After an eventful winter quarter and the usual sunbathing during warm spring afternoons, they topped off the year with the annual spring formal, where Monetta Bostrom was crowned the Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. The Sigs were represented on the ASUU Executive Council by Randy Mackey. Sigs had members of Owl and Key, Skull and Bones and Beehive honoraries, as well as numerous participants in varsity athletics. But perhaps what will be remembered most by the Sigs themselves are the afternoons around the card table or the evenings spent in discussing and learning from the experience of others, because it was there that the bonds of brotherhood were felt.
