The Men's and Women's Glee Clubs, the Pep Band, the School Orchestra, the String Quartette, and the opera personnel as well as a multitude of private pupils in both vocal and instrumental phases constitute the musical activity group on the U. campus. At the head of these component organizations, is the Music Council, composed of three faculty members, two student members and a student manager, which positions have been filled this school year respectively by Messrs. Arthur Freber, William Peterson, Thomas Giles, Dwight Flickinger, Miss Virginia Summerhays, and James K. Knudson. It has been the aim of the council in so far as possible to distribute the apportionment granted among the several divisions in proportion to their activity. Such important problems as the Male Glee Club trip to California, the presentation of a grand opera, the participation of band and orchestra in concert functions owe their solution to the diligency and cooperation of the Music Council. The primary aim of this Council is to raise the standards of music on the U. campus to ever increasing heights.GILESChairmaneMusic CouncilFREBER SUMMERHAYSPETERSON^^d^.^^^^a^^^^^^:^^^QM^^€€M^:fe ITwo hundred ninety-four |
