The score was 81 to 64. Owen Rowe, the biggest threat in conference track, did about half the record breaking.Utah did well in taming the Aggies, 99>4 to 45>^. Glen Worthington was out of the meet, but it's still safe to guess that Grant would have won in the high hurdles. Nate Long excelled in the dashes, with a new state record of 48.2 in the quarter mile, and Grant got off to pleasing distances in the broad jump. The weightmen were as usual. We know just this much about this side the Conference. The Cougars are extremely well fortified in the weight events, and are sure for 15 to 20 points from the contributions of Owen Rowe. The Aggies have Worthington and Levi Myers as stars in the track races, with Phillips and Smith throwing the javelin far and wide. It's these Cougar and Farmer stars who are going to make it tough for the Crimson in the state and conference affairs as far as this state is concerned.Denver university has its Haynes, holder of the conference 440 record, the Colorado Aggies have their star weight man, and Boulder booms out with a well-balanced team all around, close to thirty of them coming to the R.
