Birthday deadline: Monday, noon 80U1: Jones Daniel T. Jones was born in Heber City, Utah,July 5,1930, to parents, Wm. Ralph and Pearl Jones. He is proud of his early pioneer ancestors that helped settle the area. When he was six months old, the family moved to Malad and later to Preston, Idaho. In 1956 he wisely chose Bountiful, Utah to be his permanent home. Dan and his wife, Rae Donna (Cole) will celebrate their 58th anniversary this year. They have two outstanding children, son Daniel T. Jones Jr. (Judy) and daughter, Sherri Lyn Lindstrom (Bill), three remarkable grandsons, Colby Buri"eson (Amy), Derek Jones (Jill) and Walker (Desi) and eight remarkably outstanding great-grandchildren, Elle Lee and Connor Burleson, Madalyn Rae, Ryker, Cole and Karter Jones and Harmony and Sawyer T. Jones. Dan began his long-time construction and sales career as an ironworker. This was the beginning of his wide ranging work in the western states and Greenland as a contractor and salesman. Along with wife, Rae Donna, they owned and operated Dan's Custom Foods, Starvation Campground, Dan Jones Construction and Jones & Company. Dan is a past president of Associated Builders & Contractors, serving on the National Safety Committee, long-time Board of Directors of Uintalands Association, and a charter member of Bountiful Elks Lodge 2442, twice being named Elk of the Year. Dan is a skilled fisherman and hunter. Family vacations, camping, the annual deer hunt and story telling are cherished memories for the family. There was a great deal of hard work and much laughter and fun. He taught his kids "Life is full of endless Daniel T. Jones opportunities;' Of great importance to Dan is his family and home, golf, work, golf, friends and golf - not necessarily always in that order.
