Show s: The Bonneville Unit of the Central Utah Project is an enormously complex system which includes, at present, 10 new reservoirs, enlargement of 2 existing reservoirs, 140 miles of aqueducts, tunnels, and canals, 3 power plants, 9 pumping plants, 13 miles of dike, and 200 miles of pipe drains. In order to provide the reader of this report some means of conceptualizing the systems and features of the Bonneville Unit, we have taken drawings and planning explanations from the Central Utah Water Conservancy District (CUWCD) planning document # 3-75. Included here is the explanation of what the feature or the project is intended to accomplish. However, for the sake of brevity, we have ommitted the innumerable specific features such as canals, pipelines, and pumping operations which are a necessary part of the feature or project. In terms of cost, these need to be incorporated. We are not in agreement with some of the premises and some of the conclusions presented in this planning document and have underlined these points for discussion, here, or in the body of the Issues Paper. Comments provided by the drawings by us are inserted at these particular points to more directly focus our concern. |
