The road was a long , hard trip , ( which NAhich ) was attended by ( consider- consider ) able difficulty on account of the rough , , barren , , uneven country through which it passed . . Several roads led from Salt Lake City to ( various- various ) points on the Green River . A road led from Salt Lake City across the Green River at ( Gunnison's Gunnisons ) Crossing , which is the present site of Greenriver , , Utah . . There was another road which led from Salt Lake City to the mouth of the Uinta River . It was at that point that Major Powell , on his second ( expe- expe ) dition , , left his party and went to Salt Lake City . ( Dellenbaugh , Compl .
