Show Logs and ( debris d6bris ) . ( -LaRue LaRue ) 100 , in Water Supply Paper 556 ( Compl . Exhibit 62 , page 15 ) ( states- states ) During flood periods Colorado River carries a large amount of driftwood . In the flood of September , 1923 , hundreds of logs 20 to 30 feet long and 2 to 3 feet in diameter passed through Grand Canyon . Photograph No . 123 , Compl . Exhibit 77 , shows the large amount of drift being carried by the Green River on October 12 , 1928 , during a small flood of 12,000 ( second-feet secondfeet ) ( Compl . Exhibit 75 , page 6 ) . Eddy , ( Abs . R . Vol . 1 , p . 6 ) , testified to huge accumulations of drift in Cataract Canyon as high as 50 feet above the water . Specific instances of the presence or ( accumula accumula- accumula ) tion of logs and ( debris d6bris ) are contained in the record . ' Logs and d6bris lodge in shallow places along the rivers and frequently built up obstructions which cause the channel to change and the sand bars to be rearranged . The Master has found that logs , etc . , are ( little Httle ) impediment to navigation . ( M . R . 80 , Exception 21 ) Evidence of actual trouble by boats with ( float- float ) ing logs is not extensive because the floating logs come with flood water , when few ventured upon the river . Floating logs must be considered as an im . ¬ - pediment to navigation if limited only to a hazard to paddle wheel boats because it adds one more ( ele- ele ) I ( 'Eddy Eddy ) ( Abs .
