Show Stanton survey 26 , 1889-1890 ( M . ( 11 It ) . , p . 57 , Exception 11 ) During the period May 25 , 1889 , to March 24 , 1890 , Robert B . Stanton , Chief Engineer of the Denver , Colorado , Canyon and Pacific Railroad Company , made a survey of the Green and Colorado Rivers from Greenriver , Utah , to Needles , ( Cali- Cali ) fornia , for the purpose of determining the feasibility and cost of ( building 'building building ) a railroad paralleling the river through the canyon . ( Survey Compl . Exhibit 175 . ) It is significant that throughout the canyon section his location contemplated the " ( stealing "stealing stealing ) from the river , n or , in other words , the construction of a roadbed on material blasted into the river channel .
