Show trip to ( Moab Aloab ) . . This stretch 175 of the river similar to the ( Green Greert ) . . Observed the river to be of irregular and erratic regimen . Considered The Slide as a distinct obstruction to navigation . 1926 . - ( M . R . 79 , Abs . R . vol . 2 , p . 876 : ) Reeside , Geological Survey , made trip from Moab to the mouth of the Green , August , 1926 , in a 16 foot boat , propelled by an Evinrude outboard ( motor inotor ) . On this trip , boat grounded a number of times . He had to go out and wade around to find the best water , and would drag the boat in that direction . Had a particularly bad time at a place called Kane ( Creek Crd6k ) , where he got out , waded 50 or 60 yards around the boat without finding deep enough water to float it . He and his companions by poling , pushing and lifting , edged the boat and waded 100 yards or more before ( reaching reachina ) deep enough water to float the boat . Below the Moab dock , where the river makes a turn , had trouble with sand bars , both ( going croing ) down and coming up . Had ( diffi- diffi ) culty where the stretches were straight . There were frequent groundings off and on all the time from , , , where they started until they reached the Junction of the river .
