Show 6777 Wimmer- D 4766 Q How many boats in the party? A Four. Q What kind of motors did they have? A Three- horsepower Evinrude motors, I believe all except one. Mr. Freeman had a motor there that I don't remember what it was. Q How many men were there on the up trip? A Six. Q Coming back down, how many men did you bring down? A Sixteen, I believe, including the crew. Q What if any trouble was encountered in going either up or down? A We had some trouble going up past Bridge of Aztec canyon; we called that Bridge canyon, because that is the place they go up to this Rainbow Bridge; we didn't have power suf-ficient to get up that current with the two boats. I would like to explain that before we got two of the engines had gone bad. Q what did you do with those boats? A Put them ahead of the other two boats, pushed them. Q The two boats with this three- horsepower engine were pushing the other two? A Yes sir, and their loads. |
