Show gfraduaiien...JUNE 14The big moment of a college life. After four years of studying, Ute students receive a valuable piece of paper and then leave these college halls to face the world. During their stay at the hilltop school many interesting changes and additions have occured on the campus. Shortly before most of them signed their first registration card at the U, World War II was brought to an end. However, there were still Army and Navy personnel stationed in the field house. During their Sophomore year the far distant Annex became part of the U, and a queen kidnaping spree was started, also the Ute basketball team won the N.I.T. crown. When they registered for Fall Quarter during their Junior year they found that the traditional red cover of the school catalog had been changed to white, upon looking around the campus they found that the new Naval Science Building was completed, the executive council was composed of independents, and when spring arrived the W.R.A. carnival was moved into the Field House. The class schedule had been changed to 50 minutes of class work and 15 minutes between classes when these Seniors came back to school this year. Also the bookstore was located east of the main parking lot. Now these students are leaving all of this behind them â€" but the memories will linger forever. An unforgetable point in the procession is when the faculty of the school stand aside and wait for the graduates to pass by.â- JfclfiApproximately 1760 Utes march across the football gridiron to the stadium bowl this year to receive their diplomas.185 |
