Show The Naval Reserve Officer's Training Corps Unit, established at the University of Utah in 1946, has, in three years, become an integral part of the University, and one of the outstanding units in the nation. There is an excellent physical plant in the new Naval Science Building, and a fine staff headed by Captain F. C. Camp, Professor of Naval Science. Because of these advantages the unit here enjoys a fine spirit, and though small it represents the U. S. Navy and its traditions in a worthy manner. The "middies" take an active interest in student affairs and do well scholastically. Their annual Winter Formal and choice of Navy Queen were highlights of the social year.Part of a "middies" duty is to keep the equipment "ship-shape." These midshipmen are shown polishing an aircraft type torpedo.N. R. O. T. C. students learn the operations of the huge Mark 37 gun director.
