Show tnes.\\lr- \ V )Because Utah's greatest asset is her mineral wealth, a course of study in mines and mineral industries was organized early in the history of the University.Since then the College has grown from one offering a few courses in metallurgy and mining engineering to one that now has eight departments offering study in Earth Sciences, Mineral Engineer-ing, and Mineral Technology. This College is the first in the country to offer a degree in Ground Water Engineering, and will be among the few universities who offer a full major in Mineral Economics. Topflight faculty members, important research activities, and excellent training courses in this College promise to be of great importance in developing Utah's mineral raw materials.Would-be miners learn the intricate operations of a ball-mill for grinding ore.
