Show Working hand in hand with his staff, editor Dick Parmelee doubled as photographer and found joy in his work despite the headaches of deadlines, and students who forgot to have their pictures taken. The task of sorting, identifying, and arranging the class pictures was very ably handled by panel editors Ada Whiteley and Pauline Plant. Compiling the index was the assignment of Ruth Ann Anderson."OUT ON TIME IN '49"To the average student the Utonian is not much more than an expenditure of five dollars, in return for which he receives some pages full of pictures bound in a fancy cover. To fully appreciate and enjoy the Utonian one should watch the daily process in Union 418 as picture by picture and page by page the book is placed together. Last summer while most Ute students were vacationing or working, the plans for the Utonian were started. The editor spent many long hours drawing up the outline for the book, which included details of the various sections. Printers, engravers, and photographers were contacted, and contracts for the publishing of the book were signed. When school began last fall the preliminary plans had all been made and the inside story of the book started to develop.Looking over past Utonians for ideas were (front row) Bonnie Lee, organization editor; Geraldene Thompson, editorial assistant; (back row) Joanne Barber, administration editor; Mary Lou Young, assistant editor. |
