Show SCOTT L. BROWN: Scott is one of the few members of our class who plans to enter general practice, an area of medicine for which his affable outgoing and unruffled manner will serve him well. Before medical school, Scott completed an LDS mission. He has spent his summers as a student fellow in pathology and pediatric cardiology. His wife, Penny, is presently completing a teaching major at the University of Utah and caring for their new daughter, Stacey. Scott is interested in all outdoor sports, and his happiest times in medical school have been the "days after examinations." He hopes to practice ultimately somewhere in the western states. WAYNE LEE COLEMAN: Raised in Pocatello, Idaho, Wayne is a saxophone player of renown. This talent was put to good use when he played in the local dance band to help finance his way through Idaho State University after returning from the LDS Swiss-Austrian mission. After graduating with high honors, he was faced with the decision of going into the lumber business and being rich or coming to Utah and being a poverty stricken medical student. He made the illogical choice and came to Utah where he was married in 1963 and now has a precocious six-month-old son. Wayne joined the Army Senior Program, and after completing his obligation to them, he hopes to settle somewhere in southeastern Idaho. 47 |
