Good information on alternatives! Group is turning up alternative cost information we have needed! Great! If you didn*t receive it, let me know, or Fred. I am enclosing two issues today.(More to come) 1. Suggestions we might want to follow on Coalition for Responsible Management of the Colorado River Basin. Alternatives - Basin wide 2. My proposal for a grant to work in Utah from National Wildlife Federation. Addressed to Thomas Kimball. This is the approach suggested as the only one NWF would consider. Suggested by Pat Parenteau. If the Federation is not interested, Pat said he would try to help me elsewhere. I send you a copy as background Information on wildlife on the Uintas. (This has been my area of expertise and a reason why Dave Wieman sees me as coming from all directions. I am preparing an outline of the issues and priorities for me to work within., as suggested by Dave.) Brent, I will have to come up with some means of subsidizing my efforts. I spent $500 September to April, not including the Dam Conference Washington trip, in trying-to get issues on CUP and Utah to groups, Administration and Congress.and trying to get Utah based CRCUP working more effectively at these other levels, also. I will be reimbursed by CRCUP $100 - if and when. As you know, my husband's physical condition yet is one of being disabled. I feel I cannot leave him again to return to Utah. We cannot retire on available retirement income - $4,000 to $5,000 annually. We would retire and could return to Utah with supplementary income. Marc Messing told me to call a Professor Friezema, Northwestern University, who had contacts in Utah and who works on Public Lands issues. He suggested I contact ROMCO, in Denver. Pending some response from NWF, I can develop a grant approach from ROMCO, or, whoever anybody thinks might be interested. At different levels of approach for grant.use. |
