This letter, then,is an inquiry into the interest of the National Wildlife Federation in the assembling and preparation of Uinta Range wildlife resource information, the parameters of CUP impacts, and mitigation proposals. I have presented this letter of inquiry within a broader context than immediate conflicts over existing wildlife on the South and West slopes of the Uinta Range and wildlife associated with Utah Lake. This wider context is not meant to limit the scope of any work the Federation needs or would support. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. If a personal meeting is desired, I could arrange to meet in Milwaukee, Chicago, or even to return to Washington. I have been sending information to Pat Parenteau, whom I have met, and to Oliver Houck, whom I may not have met. I will be providing Mr. Parenteau information more directed to his particular concerns, henceforth, as well as to the Natural Resource Clinic, University of Colorado School of Law. I was informed by Joel Frandzen, Duchesne District Ranger, Ashley National Forest, of your visit to Rock Creek Canyon, and the site of the Upper Stillwater Dam construction last summer.
