Show Flows in 68 miles of the Weber River will be reduced. Of this amount kk miles are Class II fishery, 19 miles are Class IV, and 5 miles are Class VI. Flows in 31 miles of the Jordan River will be increased. Of this amount 30 miles are Class V fishery and 11 miles are Class III fishery. 2/ High- Level Plan The impacts of the pipeline from Slaterville Diversion Dam would be about the same as for the low- level plan. Construction of Perdue Dam and Reservoir would cause inundation of 1,530 acres of meadows and hillsides, and k. 9 miles of Class III fishery in the Weber River. This alternative would result in decreased flows in approximately 82 miles of the Weber River. Of this amount 19 miles are Class IV fishery, 5 miles are Class VI, and the remaining 58 miles are Class II. Flows of 23 miles of the Provo River would be increased, The fishery classification of this reach is 10.8 miles of Class III, k. 2 miles of Class II, 5 miles of Class I, and k miles of Class IV. Rehabilitation of the Provo Reservoir Canal and construction of the Jordan Aqueduct would have about the same impact as in the proposed plan. With both alternatives, dam construction would leave borrow area scars which might not be inundated. Also, temporary water, air, and noise pollution would result, similar to that with construction of the proposed plan. Unknown quantities of upland and big- game habitat would be lost with either alternative. ( 2) Importation from Bear River ( a) Description of the Alternative Development and importation of water from the Bear River Basin to Salt Lake Valley has been studied. A sizable quantity of Bear River water is presently undeveloped and unconsumed. This is considered a long- range alternative because considerable legal difficulty is anticipated in obtaining additional water from this source. The management alternative to build this now rather than later does not exist because of these anticipated legal difficulties. Three states, are involved in the Bear River Basin, and allocation of water among the states under the Bear River Compact- a prerequisite to further development- promises to be difficult and time consuming.
