Show Coaches Theu niversity's appointment of Ike J. Armstrong as head coach, in 1925, has proved wise beyond words. "Big Chief" Armstrong has consistently produced championship football teams and top-rating track squads. A clean sweep of the '32 pigskin campaign fell in line with the established Utah "U" prestige. By creditably aiding in gridiron and cinder coaching, and through his ability to polish green basketball material, Vadal Peterson is successfully closing his sixth year at the hilltop institution. Producing an occasional hoop championship is a worthy feat, but directing a conference winner and two divisional runners-up in three successive seasons is the worthy accomplishment of which Coach Peterson can boast. The Crimson coaching staff ranks high in efficiency, coordination, skillful methods, and adaptability, these marking some of the characteristics of the Armstrong-Peterson-Couch combination. Armstrong directs football during the league season and in spring drill. He guides the winter track drill and the spring campaign. Peterson scouts and assists during the football season, heads the basketball drive, and aids with track. Couch helps coach football, track, and basketball and coaches the wrestling squad.
