Show UTONIAN i :7 u Soph omore Class HE sophomore class experienced a somewhat unfortunate year on the traditional field of conflict between it and the freshmen. They were defeated in the annual log roll and forced to unconditional surrender in the push ball contest. What they lost here, however, they compensated for in the field of dramatics, social events, and academic endeavor. The leaders sharing in the achievements of the class were: David Ashton, president; Mary Jones, vice president; Ralph Brown, treasurer; and Marjorie Stohl, secretary. Freshman Class This year's freshman class has proved to be outstanding in all phases of college life. In addition to distinguishing themselves scholastically and socially members of the class have participated actively in all activities. The interclass rivalry was keen, tugs of water bursting forth in the form of the annual log roll and a push ball contest, both of which were won by the frosh. The officers of the class were Thornley Swan, president; Mary Strange, vice president; Emeline Nebeker, secretary; and Merrill Davis, treasurer. Page 39 |
