Show Bi Utah, 29 VS. B. Y. U., 0 'RIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY, most feared of Utah's conference foes, and boasting an unblemished early season record, lined up against the Crimson at the Ute stadium, October 15, with odds even for the first time in history. Now or never the sages said, in view of Young's apparent strength and Utah's previous game in which an uphill battle gained a meager tie with lowly Nevada. However, the Youngsters proved just another team which wilted under a relentless attack as Utah turned on the power from the opening kickoff until the final gun. Score: 29 to 0. The Utes kicked, passed, plunged, and skirted the ends like the Armstrong machines of yesteryear. Captain Christensen led Utah to an impressive triumph with a display of generalship that left no alley open to the floundering Cougar. The entire forward wall, led by Jack Johnson and Walt McDonald, shone brilliantly as Christensen, Richins, and Arnett culmi-ated one sustained drive after nother to score. Pete Wilson was mainstay for the Cougars. Smashing Interference Paves Way for Ute Advance Against B. Y. U. Page 247 |
