Show Babcock, Smith Jacobsen, McKay Plummer Dramatic Council Tc O the dramatic council goes a large portion of the credit for the unusual success of university dramatics this season. The elected council composed of student and faculty representatives, director, and student manager, has complete supervision over student dramatics. Its duty is to appoint managers, outline a complete list of dramatic activities, appoint judges for tryouts, and oversee, in addition to the choosing of plays, all financial matters pertaining to drama productions. The council for the past year has been under the able leadership of Professor Joseph F. Smith as chairman, who has been assisted by Margaret Jacobsen and Emma Rae McKay, student representatives, and Dr. Hyrum Schneider, faculty advisor. Maud May Babcock, as director, has been a central figure in the revival of the legitimate theaier in Salt Lake. Her name has become synonomous with outstanding, finished productions. Charlotte Knight as manager is largely responsible for the financial success of this year's drama productions. A financial report was submitted to the council with the most favorable balance that has been obtained for several years. Charlotte Knight, Manager Page 142 |
