Show c Utah, 14 VS. Colorado 'U', 0 RICHINS | Halfback .OACH IKE ARMSTRONG and Utah University's 1932 gridders lingered just long enough at Norlin stadium, Boulder, Colorado, on November 5, to administer a sound defeat to Colorado University, 14 to 0. Although the Redskins outplayed their opponents by a wide margin, they failed to score in the entire second half. Twice the champions fought to Colorado's one-yard line, but their scoring efforts were of no avail as Colorado each time mustered the necessary power to withstand the Ute onslaughts. The Boulderites soon found it impossible to make inroads into Utah territory with a running or plunging attack. But in resorting to forward passing, no semblance of a scoring threat was produced. Aggressive Ute linemen broke through to throw opposing passers for repeated losses while the Crimson secondary securely blanketed all would-be receivers. Still, the Silver and Gold's performance of confining the Utah advances chiefly away from the goal line was quite remarkable. Sleater Elucks Aggie Tacklers Page 249 |
