Show o VER forty thousand persons filed through the turnstiles of the Olympic stadium at Los Angeles, September 24, to see Utah, in quest of intersectional recognition, tackle the national champion Southern California aggregation. The gridders from the mountain sector made a valiant stand early in the game, but before the contest ended the titleholders had amassed a grand total of 35 to 0 against the Redskins. Utah opened the initial period with an aerial attack that netted five first downs and drove El Trojan back to its own 27-yard line. Soon after, however, Tedesco suffered an injured knee and was removed from the fray. With Tedesco went the Redskin forward-pass threat, for although the Utes managed to hold the champions well in check until half time, limiting them to a single touchdown, Coach Howard Jones' men coupled power with speed to rout the invaders completely.
