Show Frederick W. Reynolds Extension Devision The Extension Division, headed by Frederick W. Reynolds, veteran director, in serving as mediary between the University proper and the public, has made itself an integral part of the educational system of the state. Through the modern mechanisms of intercourse, correspondence and radio, the department has made available to people unaffiliated with the university the services of its instructors and has made home-study courses in all fields profitable. The rural communities as well as the towns of the state have benefitted by the activities sponsored by the division. A complete list of functions directed by the Extension bureau for any one night would total over one hundred, reaching every part of the state. Lectures, demonstrations, entertainments, and educational classes are included. In the form of the Master Minds and Artists series, the department has been instrumental in introducing varied cultural programs. Page 31 |
