Show Mulder, Daly Barker, Thody Sheffield, Funk Richards, Parsons Welch, Stout Owen, Schonfeld The Chronicle Maurice Knight, Editor The Utah Chronicle, under the editorship of Maurice J. Knight, has brought to the students each week a record of school events, and has accurately mirrored campus opinion. Reduction of appropriations for the Chronicle made necessary the curtailing of the publication to once a week. The progressive policy adopted by the Chronicle, however, made it possible for the paper to maintain its position on the campus in spite of this handicap. The Chronicle was adjudged second place winner among all college papers in the Rocky Mountain area at the regional press conference early in January. The award was considered a recognition of the paper's efforts to present the news in a clear and concise manner. Through its editorial column the Chronicle waged many battles in behalf of the students and was a strong factor in crystallizing student opinion on many important issues. Realizing that the Chronicle is the student news organ of the University, the Chrony staff has diligently tried to represent fairly the entire student body. The efficient manner in which the business end of the Chronicle was taken care of, under the able management of Ray Fisher, is shown by the fact that the year was ended with a surplus, despite adverse financial conditions.
