Show MORTAR BOARDThe outstanding girls wearing the Mortar Board pin are selected on the basis of service, scholarship, and leadership. Mortar Board promotes college loyalty, advances the spirit of service and fellowship university women, maintains a high standard of scholarship, recognizes and encourages leadership, and stimulates the development of a finer type of college woman.Under the leadership of Carol Jackson, Mortar Board began a two-year study of student and city resident participation in college-sponsored functions.
