But the fact must be taken into consideration that this year's team met some of the best swimmers in the country. Meeting such top teams as U.S.C. and U.C.L.A., which draw their swimmers from the Pacific beaches and the pools of Australia, proved a valuable experience to the Utahns and enabled them to improve their skill to such an extent that they were able to take second place in the conference. At this conference meet, held at Missoula, Montana, the Utes lost by only ten points.
