Hogue.The Army Reserve Officers Training Corps of the University of Utah, as one of many such units throughout the country, provides a program of four years training in essential military subjects. The goal of the program is to provide trained officers and leaders for the U. S. Army.Three hundred cadets received a full schedule of instruction in weapons, tactics, and leadership. Between their junior andSenior year, the Army ROTC cadets attend a six-week summer camp at Fort Lewis, Washington. Social activities this year included the Cadet Officers' Dinner Dance, the Military Ball, and the annual spring picnic. Their weeks were filled with studies, drills, and spitshining of their black shoes. They also helped on campus by participating in the annual blood drive.iiiliii |
