The Utes continued to show great promise as they reeled off four impressive victories before being bounced by nationally ranked Texas Christian, the same team they had beaten badly the night before. Highly touted St. Mary's next invaded the Ute wigwam, and a large crowd of finals-weary students watched in dismay as the Gaels overcame a 13-point Utah lead to walk away with a well-earned 77-75 victory. Then came a four-game road trip that saw the Redskins first realize how precious the home court advantage is, as they took a 92-69 spanking at the hands of Ohio State University on the Buckeye home court.
