Show Old Sol shines again for a second year...A Snowless now CarnivalIt was snowing, Utah, snowing . . . and in the blanket softness of Immigration and Little Cottonwood canyons, literature-logged students relaxed and tubed and boarded during a wintry weekend. A possible exception was Mike Stewart, for organizing Snow Carnival '59 left few free hours, and frazzled nerves.A courtly assembly and twelve fair maidens fanfared Vhiver, while various feats were performed for the amusement of spectators and participants. There was a rink full of figure eights, twirls, and students gliding, tumbling, streaking, swirling. Tvibes and toboggans, saucers and sleds carried riders to the foot of Little Mountain, where they fortified themselves with hot chocolate before making the uphill trek. The broadcast of the B.Y.U. basketball game booned out to mark a Friday well spent.Saturday brought the races at Alta. Lodges and lifts were filled as snow fans watched the action or raced through the dizzying course. Snowshoes were donned and snow bunnies downed as Greeks again competed, this time for rabbitfoot racing honors. Attaining the awards were Pi Kappa Alpha and Pi Beta Phi.Saturday nightâ€"and the climax! . . .
